Desert Bloom is a movie about a family living in Las Vegas in 1950 during the "Atomic Era". In the movie, the Chrismore family experiences hardships due to the relationship between the father, Jack Chrismore, and his wife and daughters. Jack is an alcoholic and experiences PTSD from his service during World War Two. The family does their best to better their relationships with one another. This movie represents a difficult time for both families and the nation. It highlights issues such as McCarthyism, child abuse, alcoholism, and much more! (Erbert) Anne Elizabeth "Annabeth" Gish is an actress who was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her family when she was very young then moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa. She grew up in Cedar Falls and at the age of 8, she began to make TV commercials. Her first role was in "Desert Bloom" in 1986. She was only 13 years old when she starred in this movie. She would go on to star in other movies such as "Hiding Out", "Mystic Pizza", and "Shag". Annabeth Gish finished high school at North University High School in Cedar Falls. She graduated in 1989. She then went on to attend college at Duke University, majoring in English and theater. After college, she began starring in movies and television again. Some of her more recent films are "The X-Files", "Brotherhood", "Pretty Little Liars", and "Americana".
