Child's coffins such as this one were built and sold by the Embalming Burial Case Company of Burlington, Iowa. The company was founded in Burlington in the late 1800s, and operated well into the second half of the 20th century. The Embalming Burial Case Company of Burlington was established in 1876 by Dr H.B. Bailey. After his death, Ulrich Ita, an immigrant from Stanheim, Switzerland took his position as president. His son, Arnold C. Ita worked as treasurer and manager and continued to run the business after his father's death. |
