Description |
This is a leather-bound "Blackhawk" yearbook from Davenport High dated 1918. The casing is black tanned leather with a gold-colored engraving on the front. The engraving depicts Chief Blackhawk, a Native American leader of prominence. This book contains the poems detailed in items 2021.003.004 and 2021.003.005. This content can be used with the following resources: SS 4.25: Technological Change This item can be used as a comparison piece when teaching students about the evolution of public schooling in Iowa or the evolution of printing technology as a whole. The style of leather book binding as seen in this item has gradually become rarer, which can be used to educate students on how literature and the technology which produces literature changes over time.
