Additional Research & Sources |
During his investigation on the assassination of Kennedy, many Americans did not believe Belin's statement that Oswald acted alone. Belin went on to defend his statement in two self-authored books. While working in the CIA, Belin became aware of government plots to assassinate Cuban leader Fidel Castro in the Am/Lash operation wherein Castro woud be killed by a poisoned pen. Belin urged the CIA to begin an investigation to find credibe evidence of this plot, however none was found by the CIA. Around the same time as the CIA investigation, a Senate select commitee released a 347 page report that stated that the United States had instigated plots against the leader, however no leads were found within this case either. |
